In Australia, we have a problem with feral birds. Tamworth Birdwatchers Inc. (TBW) are concerned that the increasing number of feral birds are having a negative impact on our native birds. They compete for food, nesting and roosting sites, and damage agricultural production and infrastructure. Feral birds include Common Mynas, Starlings, Sparrows, Rock Pigeons, Blackbirds, Spotted Doves.
One of our long-serving members, 94-year-old Eric, has been making these traps for many years. He is the presenter in this video and Annabel has written the accompanying instructions. We would like to thank them for their contribution.
The video was made possible by a grant from Tamworth Regional Landcare Association – thank you. The video was created by Matt Foley of Folmac Video Productions.
Here is the video The Making of a Feral Bird Trap on YouTube and here are the written instructions to go with the video.
